Magical Girls

Magical Girls are young girls who use the power of friendship to transform into the cutest outfits so they fight monsters with their friends in equally fashionable outfits. While being a Magical Girl is not a realistic career pathway for me, I can live out my dreams in other ways.

Some miscellaneous original magical girl designs. Since there are as many ways to be a magical girl as there are to be a regular girl - so I love using the genre and design aesthetics to explore different stories and ideas.

Yes, I talked about this already on my other page - this is my website I can do what I want. Concepts for a magical girl series idea I had where three girls are given powers by Parvati/Durga that allow them to transform into cute outfits and gain magical weapons that they can use to slay Rakshasa. I've combined the frills, bows and poofy skirts from magical girl outfits and Japanese lolita fashion with the silks, jewellery and jasmine garlands that makeup a pattu pavadai a young girl would wear. Magical girl outfits are a celebration of girlhood and fashion, which is why I incorporated the pretty details of traditional south indian clothing that remind me of my childhood.

Lucky Bunny

Mia Mahadevan is the unluckiest person in Harksville and can never seem to do anything right. Her luck changes when a magical snarky peacock turns her into a bunny-suit-wearing magical girl with super strength and extraordinary luck named Lucky Bunny. Together with her conspiracy obsessed roommate, Mia must manage saving her town from weirdo bad guys while also dealing with everyday dramas. This idea is from an old webcomic I started when I was at uni but is on hiatus (for now)....More information in other.

Fanart

My magical girl obsession is so strong that when I read or watch anything else I find myself thinking "but what if they were magical girls?" While I sometimes draw fanart of existing magical girls, I often use my love of fashion to create concepts of what other characters would look like as magical girls.

Madoka and Homura from Madoka Magica with Sanrio twist.

Harrowhark Nonagesimus from the Locked Tomb Trilogy as a magical girl, heavily inspired by gothic lolita aesthetics and fashion.

Vocoloid Hatsune Miku as a cupid inspired magical girl, heavily inspired by the emerging 2020's coquette fashion style as well as lolita aesthetics and fashion.

Team RWBY from RWBY as magical girls.
